Treatment Options

Acne Treatment

Acupuncture treats acne by stabilizing the hormones that cause it. Your acupuncturist will assess the severity and causation of your specific type of acne, and tailor a series of treatments. No two treatments are alike as various combinations of factors such as hormones, stress, lifestyle and genetics cause acne.

Traditional Chinese Medicine considers physical, emotional and environmental factors of the individual when treating skin problems. From this perspective, acne is most often associated with heat and dampness effecting internal organs and channels. The three organs responsible for acne are the spleen, stomach and lungs.

Each organ has to perform a specific task and is connected to the channel that flows from the internal surface of the skin and connects with a specific organ.  When one of these organs has a dysfunction, the end result can be the formation of acne.  Therefore, the acne can be successfully treated by solving the cause of the problem.

Most candidates with mild to moderate acne will require a minimum of 5 sessions, and those with the most severe acne will need 10 or more sessions in combination with Chinese herbs and possibly laser treatments to stop the production of scar tissue on the face.

The best part of about receiving acupuncture for acne is that there are absolutely no side effects. The acupuncture treats the whole constitution of the body, so your entire body will perform better.

Allergy Relief

Acupuncture can  be an effective treatment for relief of allergy symptoms such as itchy eyes and sneezing, and can be combined with or used in the place of antihistamines.  As with all Chinese Medicine, the goal is to treat the root cause of allergies within you so that the symptoms do not come back.

Body Rejuvenation

By directing and redirecting energy flow, we're able to tighten skin and tone targeted muscles. This typically results in an anti-aging effect both due to the tighter skin appearing youngerm as well as an overall improvement in health.  This treatment also stimulates collagen which also assists with slowing down the aging process, and while it's effective once signs of aging have begun to set in it can also be very effective to begin in your twenties as a preventative measure.

Headache Relief

If you are suffering from migraines and constant headaches, acupuncture can provide real relief.  In fact, our acupuncturist Dr. Gorman can guarantee it!  Call our office for full details.

Non-Surgical Facelift

Non-surgical acupuncture facelift treats wrinkles by causing the body to produce collagen in the areas of fine or deep wrinkles. As an alternative to injections and surgery, acupuncture can provide a great result when received in regular intervals of 10 or more sessions.

If you’ve been tempted to get a facelift, but don’t want to go under the knife, then acupuncture is for you! Cosmetic acupuncture focuses on the look and health of the entire face. It is a great alternative and complementary treatment to injectables such as Botox and Restylane. Injectables are focused on specific areas while cosmetic acupuncture addresses the face as a whole.

Visible results can be expected after a single treatment.  For optimal results multiple treatments are recommended.

Pain Relief

The ancient art of acupuncture has been used in Asia for centuries to treat many conditions and relieve pain. It's now being used in the United States and other Western countries to ease lower back pain, shingles and other nerve pain, hand and knee pain, headache, fibromyalgia, and menstrual pain.

Stimulation of certain acupuncture points have shown to be effective for stimulating areas within the brain that help reduce pain and decrease stress.

Many people have been relieved of long-term body pain from acupuncture treatments. Whether chronic or acute pain, inflammation is instantly reduced to help the body heal correctly as nature intended. The body’s energy is multiplied with the use of acupuncture.

Mood Booster & Stress Relief

Treat anxiety and instantly uplift your spirits with this ear acupuncture treatment designed to calm the mind by releasing endorphins.
